5 Tips When Dressing To Look Slimmer

I am often asked “what clothes can I wear to look slimmer?”

Who doesn’t want to look and feel slim?

Here are five tips to help you

Lets start with the foundation of any outfit…

#1 Undergarments

The fit of your bra is key.

No one wants to look bumpy, bulgy or saggy right?

If you have not been fitted and are wearing a bra that is too big or too small; go to any department store in the intimates section, or Victoria Secret and get measured.

So many of us including myself at one point have worn or are wearing the wrong size bra.

Not only do you want to have a proper fitting bra that flatters your shape; you also want to wear underwear that fit and flatter your shape too.

Obviously you do not want to be bulging out of your panties, but you do not want them to be baggy either. I personally love a good pair of control top panties when I am wearing most dresses even skirts and jumpsuits.

    If you need more structure and support I suggest wearing Shape Wear. It smooths bumps and bulges on the tummy, derriere and thighs. It works great with everything from form-fitting tops and dresses to slim cut jeans.

      Ok, we have the foundation down to creating a slimmer look. Now lets move on to some tips.

      #2 Wear Black

      It really is that simple…

      Black is slimming, it is chic and you can never go wrong with a black dress or jumpsuit.

      #3 Head To Toe – One Color

      Say head to toe black isn’t your thing. Then try to go for a head to toe look in one color.

      Dressing in one color creates an unbroken line, creating an elongated look. Which in turn makes you look slimmer.

      #4 Wear A Fitted Blazer

      A blazer that is tailored to fit you will show off your shape and balance it.

      Which creates a slimmer look on the body.

      You do not want an oversized or boxy fitting blazer, because it adds weight that isn’t really there. Making you appear larger than you are.

      No one wants that, right?

      I always tell my clients, family and friends that wearing clothes right off the rack; whether it is a blazer or a pair of jeans you should take it to a tailor for a proper fit.

      We are not all made the same there for what fits you might not fit me so well. We are all individuals who come in different shapes and sizes.

        #5 High Waisted Pants/Skirts

            Wearing clothes that fit and flatter your figure will make you feel confident in yourself and in your clothes!




            I am all about women knowing who they are, finding their own individual style, and not spending a lot of money doing so.  I believe in creating looks that are timeless yet practical and consistent with your own personality. I live to shop the clearance racks! I truly believe It’s not what you wear but how you wear it. Not one of us were created to look the same, so what looks good on one woman might not look good on another. So when shopping for yourself, it is crucial to know what looks good on you. Knowing what works on your shape can make the difference from an ordinary outfit to ex-ordinary. I think we should go through life giving it all we have and I apply this ideology when dressing myself. I know from my own experience that when having a not so good day I know that if I put on a nice dress or fun sassy top, I can guarantee that what ever sour mood I might have felt before starts to slip away when I slip into the clothes. First impressions are lasting so why not always try to look your best you never know who you might meet! These are all approaches I take when building my wardrobe, or getting dressed on a daily basis. As far as about me as a person to share some insight with you. I clearly LOVE clothes. I but what I love more than the clothes themselves is how I feel when wearing certain outfits. I also LOVE to style for other people. I get such an amazing feeling when I have helped someone select an outfit that they feel good in. Or sometimes what is better than that for me is dressing someone in something they would never choose for their self and they end up loving it. Although I do love clothes I do not believe in spending a lot of money to look and feel good. I get a thrill out shopping clearance. The price tag does not define the worth of an item to me. What makes it worth it for me is how it makes me feel and knowing that I paid half the cost and still look GREAT!
